A precise and profound understanding of the Holy Qur’an requires the application of linguistic methods and approaches that can uncover its semantic and structural layers. This study examines discourse constructs in the verses of the Holy Qur’an based on Gee’s applied linguistics framework, which represents one of the contemporary approaches in this field. The research focuses on seven discourse constructs proposed within this framework and analyzes their manifestation in Qur’anic verses. The study employs a qualitative method. The data consist of Qur’anic dialogues found across Qur'anic surahs. Data analysis is conducted through an examination of the frequency and impact of these discourse constructs in the Holy Qur’an. Furthermore, the significance and role of each construct in the understanding and interpretation of Qur’anic texts are investigated. The findings reveal a hierarchical pattern in the use of discourse constructs within Qur’anic dialogues, reflecting their relative importance. In descending order of frequency, the discourse constructs identified in the Qur’anic verses are: significance, activities, practices, identities, sign systems and knowledge, relationships, and politics/connections. The creative deployment of these discourse structures, as reflected in their frequency of occurrence, demonstrates their effectiveness in conveying the intended meanings of this divine scripture and facilitating readers’ comprehension of Qur’anic texts.
